Dzheimz & Ninja, a duo that played an important role in the revival of Estonian drum and bass and released the album "Newdancebeat" in 2000, released a new album, "Millennium," after more than 23 years.
The album is primarily a retrospective look at the Estonian drum and bass and alternative music scene in the period leading up to the turn of the millennium. There are musical and lyrical references to the dance floor hits of the time, clubs, party series, and places where the first D'n'B fans entrusted their young and energetic bodies to the dense drums and massive bass waves until the early hours of the morning.
The guys themselves say: "Old school to the max, the sound is raw, but mature." As a bonus, among the songs you will find Planeet`s remix of the song “Enter” and HeadRead`s remix from the track "Kalinin".
The digital version of the album will be available on all streaming platforms starting November 15. The limited edition red vinyl, with only 200 copies available, can be purchased starting December 1 from well-stocked record stores across Estonia.
Transport yourself back in time a little over 20 years. The drums pound in your head, the bass vibrates in your gut – you're at a rave. You could be in the parquet-floored auditorium of the art university, ERKI, or in the small internet café Enter in the basement below it. Or perhaps in the former Kalinin electrical engineering factory. Or at Difference, next to the Lubja police station. Or maybe at the mainstream glam club Decolte. In any case, your hair is a mess and your shirt is soaked through. Because the music is so loud that you can't stand still. And why should you – there's still plenty of time before the first bus...
